When the ARCA Menards series returns to Pocono Raceway this Friday for the Sunset Hill Shooting Range 150 (3 p.m. ET on FS1), it will be a homecoming for driver Ed Pompa.
“I have always considered Pocono a home race since it was the closest track for me,” Pompa said. “Also because it was my first ever ARCA start way back in 2006. I still have memories of my first ARCA start and my first ARCA crash in the same weekend, although not in that order. Ask Hillenburg or Andy Belmont about that one.
“I have 26 ARCA starts at Pocono so far, with the last 21 being consecutive going back to race two of 2011. Easy to do when there were two races a year. Twenty-seven percent of my ARCA starts have been at Pocono. I haven’t figured the place out yet, so I just keep coming back. A huge thank you to Nick Igdalsky for having ARCA back at Pocono this year.”

Pompa will be racing the No. 10 WildforLifeInc.org / Double H Ranch Chevrolet in Friday’s race, which is the first ARCA Menards Series event at Pocono Raceway since 2023.
“Friday I have two great not for profits on the car, trying to get both some free publicity,” Pompa said. “Wild for Life Inc. is an animal rescue and rehabilitation facility, founded by Alexis Broz LaRoche and currently run by her and her husband Eric along with a host of volunteers. Alexis and her crew have done amazing rehab work with these animals. Otters, fox, beavers, owls, etc. The face of Wild for Life Inc is Bo the beaver. Bo lost an eye due to an infection and can’t be released back into the wild, so she has become a permanent fixture at this facility. Bo has been on ABC news and filmed for multiple beaver documentaries, along with being the ring bearer for Alexis’ and Eric’s recent wedding.
“Still on my car after all these years, is The Double H Ranch, in Lake Luzerne, New York. A camp for seriously ill kids, where medical issues don’t matter for a week when they attend camp. The kids can just focus on having fun. A member of a serious fun camp group, Double H Ranch was founded in 1993 by local philanthropist Charlie Wood and actor Paul Newman. All kids attend camp completely free of charge, thanks to donations. The camp staff and volunteers do amazing work with these kids and I’m proud to be able to get them some publicity and hopefully some new donors.”
Pompa’s No. 10 Chevrolet will also have support from HYTORC of New York, The Vampire State LLC, Cen-Pe-Co Lubricants, Simwraps, Pompa Bros Inc., Fast Track Racing and Trimaxx Graphics during Friday’s event.
