PIT BOX: West Series shifts focus to Madera Speedway this Saturday night

A short-track Saturday night awaits the stars and cars of the ARCA Menards Series West as the series travels to California’s Madera Speedway for the running of the Madera 150 presented by the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame (7:15 p.m. PT / 10:15 p.m. ET on FloRacing).

Saturday’s event marks the 11th time the West Series will race at the 0.333-mile asphalt oval. West Series legend Jack McCoy won the inaugural event at the track in 1973. The series didn’t return until 1989, when Bill Sedgwick triumphed during a 200-lap event.

Other West Series victors through the years at Madera include Doug George, Butch Gilliland, Lance Hooper, Mike Duncan, Eric Holmes, Kaden Honeycutt and the winner of the two most recent Madera West Series races, Trevor Huddleston.

Madera 150 at Madera Speedway

Trevor Huddleston continues to be in the driver’s seat as he marches toward his second consecutive ARCA Menards Series West championship.

The driver of the No. 50 High Point Racing Ford holds a 35-point advantage over Mason Massey with four races left in the 2026 season. As if that weren’t enough, Huddleston has wins at three of the remaining four tracks on the schedule.

That doesn’t mean Huddleston has the championship locked up. Anything can — and often does — happen in racing.

For the aforementioned Massey, a win this weekend at Madera would keep him in the hunt for the West Series title. The Bill McAnally Racing driver has won twice this year (Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway and Portland International Raceway), so nothing is out of the question.

Huddleston and Massey will face ample competition throughout the field Saturday night, as more than 20 drivers have filed entries for the Madera 150. That includes two-time West Series winner Cole Denton, who will lead a trio of cars out of the Jan’s Racing stable. He’ll be joined by Robbie Kennealy and Quinn Davis, who will be making her first start with the team owned by Jan Qualkenbush.

Ethan Nascimento, who shocked the West Series field by earning his maiden victory at All American Speedway in the most recent race, will be back in action Saturday aboard his family-owned No. 21. Hailie Deegan, fresh off a strong race at All American, will look to capitalize for her first victory of the 2026 campaign in the second Bill McAnally Racing entry.

One driver, Wyatt Flowers, will make his ARCA Menards Series West debut Saturday. The 15-year-old from Palmer, Alaska prepared for this race last weekend by scoring his first Jr. Late Model victory at Madera.

Other notable entries include Mia Lovell, Eric Johnson Jr., Gavin Ray, Kenna Mitchell, Andrew Chapman, Will Robinson, Joey Iest and Eric Rhead, among others.

RACE FACTS:

CREW CHIEF HANDOUT: Field limited to 22 starters, plus provisionals. This event will be run under the 2026 ARCA Menards Series West rules, procedures, regulations and specifications.

QUALIFYING: Starting position will be set by each car’s fastest recorded lap per the Single Car Qualifying procedure. No adjustments will be allowed after the car takes the green flag. All cars must make a qualifying attempt; all drivers must practice before they can qualify.

RACE PIT STOP: Pitting during any caution during this event will be for repairs or adjustments only. No tires can be changed unless damaged and approved by ARCA officials.

TIRE ALLOTMENT: Per ARCA Rulebook, maximum tire usage for this event (purchased plus from-home tires) is 8 for the entire race day event.
