PIT BOX: High-stakes race at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway up next for West Series competitors

It’s the old cliché: Any trip to Las Vegas usually involves some form of gambling.

This philosophy does often apply to the city’s racing culture, though, which includes the The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Located next to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, The Bullring entertained fans and challenged drivers long before the intermediate complex hosted its first major NASCAR event in 1996.

The ARCA Menards Series West’s 14^th visit to The Bullring carries additional significance. Friday’s race was renamed the Kyle Busch Classic presented by Star Nursery in honor of the late two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion who developed his skills at The Bullring before embarking on his legendary career.

With The Bullring also sporting a fresh repave that was completed earlier this month, there is plenty for West Series competitors to anticipate going into the weekend. Any on-track gambles will need to be calculated and precise, as there are only three more opportunities to earn a West Series victory before the end of the 2026 season.

Kyle Busch Classic presented by Star Nursery at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

The city of Las Vegas has been kind to Hailie Deegan throughout her career.

When the West Series began its 2019 season at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Deegan picked up her then second career victory with a last-lap pass on Jagger Jones. Deegan has never run a major event at The Bullring, but she does have the benefit of momentum on her side following an emotional Madera Speedway triumph last week.

Joining Deegan and her Bill McAnally Racing teammate Mason Massey for Friday’s Kyle Busch Classic presented by Star Nursery is Vito Cancilla, who will make his West Series debut. Known as “The Torpedo,” Cancilla eyes a strong outing to continue a busy 2026 that has seen him branch out to run a handful of East Coast events.

Also making his first West Series appearance this weekend is Helio Meza in the No. 28 Chevrolet for Pinnacle Racing Group. Meza is a standout road-course competitor with eight victories in 11 Trans Am TA2 Series starts this year. He looks to continue that efficiency Friday with one of the most efficient teams on the ARCA Menards Series platform.

Despite coming up short of a dominant victory at Madera, Trevor Huddleston still holds a comfortable, 40-point advantage in the West Series standings with three races left. Huddleston has a good chance to further extend his points lead this weekend; he enters as the most recent West Series winner at The Bullring.

Other drivers competing at The Bullring this weekend include Donald Theetge, Kenna Mitchell, Sam Corry, Taylor Mayhew, Quinn Davis and Eric Rhead.

RACE FACTS:

CREW CHIEF HANDOUT: Field limited to 22 starters, plus provisionals (EIRI). This event will be run under the 2026 ARCA Menards Series rules, procedures, regulation and specifications.

QUALIFYING: Starting position will be set by each car’s fastest recorded lap per the Single Car Qualifying procedure. No adjustments will be allowed after the car takes the green flag. All cars must make a qualifying attempt; all drivers must practice before they can qualify (EIRI).

RACE PIT STOP: Pitting during any caution during this event will be for repairs or adjustments only. No tires can be changed unless damaged and approved by ARCA officials.

TIRE ALLOTMENT: Per ARCA Rulebook, maximum tire usage for this event (purchased plus from-home tires) is 8 for the entire race day event.
