Seattle rookie Tayler Malsam heads to Toledo Speedway for the 21st and final race of the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series looking to secure a spot in the top-ten in the final championship standings. Malsam has lived in that neighborhood for the past 16 races.

Malsam broke into the top-ten in the ARCA RE/MAX Series standings at the fifth event of the season in May.  He has remained there ever since, rising as high as sixth in the points after 19 races, before heading into least week’s race at Talladega which saw an early exit drop him to the ninth spot heading into Toledo.

Malsam, 19, would like nothing better than a strong finish at Toledo to go with his third place finishes both on the speedway at Pocono and on the road circuit at New Jersey plus a fifth place on the dirt oval at Springfield, Illinois.

“We really want to close out the ARCA season with a good finish,” said Malsam. “We have had an up and down season with the #4 Dodge Development car, but the Cunningham Motorsports guys have never stopped working. Clinching a top-ten spot in the final standings would be a good way to recognize the efforts that everyone has put into the series.”

Having made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut at Bristol, Malsam will enter five NCTS events following Toledo as part of the Penske Racing Development team, driving a Dodge Ram truck for the newly formed CHS Racing.
