ARCA All-Access at MIS Huge Success

(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - February 10, 2011) - John Ferrier hit the track for the first official ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards action of the 2011 season this afternoon.  While morning rains threatened the lone four-hour practice session, officials were able to get the track dried off in time for the 1:00 p.m. start.

At the conclusion of the session, Ferrier's No. 14 CGS Imaging Ford sat 13th among the 47 cars that took laps around Daytona International Speedway's high-banks.  Ferrier rounded the 2.5-mile superspeedway with a time of 49.002 seconds (183.666 mph).

"I am really happy with the way the car ran today," said Ferrier.  "We are right there in the draft, I mean we are in the top-15. We were in the top-15 in single car runs too, so I am pretty optimistic."

Ferrier and his Andy Belmont Racing Crew focused on the handling of his No. 14 Ford for much of the practice session.

"Overall the car is handling really well. I noticed that it was a little bit tight coming off turn 2, but that's not really uncommon in the draft.  We are making some slight changes, and I think we are going to have a good run tomorrow for sure."

ARCA Racing Series action is set to begin again on Friday at 2:00 p.m. EST when the field will be set in Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell for the running of Saturday afternoon's Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200.
