Sauter sets record, Ragan to start up front in Sunday's ARCA/CRA Super Series lidlifter
(CORDELE, Ga. – January 25, 2014) – Johnny Sauter set a new track qualifying record Saturday and won the pole for Sunday’s ARCA/CRA Super Series race at Watermelon Capital Speedway. The 200-lap non-points event kicks off the season for the series.

Sauter set a blistering pace by turning his lap in 15.562 seconds, just ahead of John Hunter Nemechek (15.644), Daniel Hemric (15.652) and Chase Elliott (15.658).

David Ragan (pictured above), a former ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards winner, will start first in Sunday’s race because of the invert. Elliott – the youngest superspeedway winner in ARCA Racing Series history – will start fourth with Sauter lining up seventh.

Anderson Bowen, who races in the ARCA Racing Series for Cunningham Motorsports, and John Wes Townley – the defending ARCA winner at Daytona, will start 19th and 20th, respectively.
