(CORDELE, Georgia - January 27, 2013) -- Future ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards driver Chase Elliott picked up his third-straight JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour SpeedFest feature victory in the Premier Building Systems 100 Sunday afternoon at Watermelon Capital Speedway.
The race was the prelude to the ARCA/CRA Super Series 200 lap event at the track. Jeff Choquette won that event, which was a season kickoff for the ARCA/CRA series.
Elliott was running up front in the ARCA/CRA SpeedFest feature, but an accident kept him out of victory lane and he finished eighth. Other drivers with ARCA Racing Series ties, including David Ragan and Erik Jones, fell victim in the same mishap, costing each of them a chance at the podium.
Elliott plans to fun in a handful of ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.
The two non-points events during SpeedFest 2013 set the stage for the start of the regular season for both the ARCA/CRA Super Series and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. The ARCA/CRA Super Series will start their 2013 points season on April 13th at the quarter-mile Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana.
The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour will start their points season one week earlier on April 7th at Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Indiana.
