ARCA Requiring Restraint Device Recertifications

ARCA Requiring Restraint Device Recertifications

An initial deadline of January 1 was extended to April 1. Teams are still required to pass a recertification inspection before competing in the next event on the schedule, the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 at Salem Speedway on April 29.

Competitors who wish to use a HANS device purchased in 2007 or earlier must have the device recertified. Devices passing the inspection will receive a new 38.1 conformance sticker marked with the inspection date. HANS Performance Products will certify the HANS device for $15 and additional shipping costs.

Devices rarely fail the recertification inspection, but regularly need replacement rubber on the legs or have tethers that are more than five years old and need to be replaced.

Two factory certified locations, in Atlanta and Indianapolis, have been established for the service. More information is available by: contacting Joe Wells, vice president of competition for ARCA, at (734) 847-6726 or jwells@arcaracing.com; visiting the ARCA Safety Initiative website; or by visiting the official recertification program website.

Note: All orders sent to HANS Performance Products in Atlanta must be confirmed online or via phone call before shipment.
