Sweet to pilot Stringer Motorsports No. 90 Toyota Camry in Series Debut

MOORESVILLE, NC (July 16, 2009) - Stringer Motorsports is pleased to announce that open-wheel sensation, Brad Sweet, will pilot the No. 90 Great Clips Toyota Camry in this Saturday's ARCA RE/MAX race at Kentucky Speedway. For Sweet, who is fresh off his Wednesday night victory at Terre Haute Speedway (Indiana) for Kasey Kahne Racing, this weekend's event will mark his debut into the realm of stock car racing. Sweet, a development driver for Kasey Kahne Racing, has made a name for himself racing USAC Midgets and Sprint cars over the last couple of years.  He has logged wins at some of the most prestigious USAC events including the Belleville Midget Nationals, the Knoxville Midget Nationals and the Sprint Car "Four Crown Nationals" at Eldora Speedway. The Grass Valley, Calif.-native recently got his first taste of stock cars testing for Stringer Motorsports at Kentucky Speedway and Iowa Speedway.

Sweet is very excited that he will have the opportunity to make his ARCA RE/MAX debut for Stringer Motorsports, coincidentally, the same team that his current boss, Kasey Kahne, drove for six years ago before progressing to the ranks of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

"I am so thankful to Doug Stringer for giving me this opportunity," said Sweet.  "This will mark my first career stock car race and I can't wait to get on the track.  We have two long practice sessions on Friday and I just want to take my time getting comfortable in the car and establishing a good rapport with the Great Clips crew.  My expectations for the race are pretty simple - to run a competitive race, stay out of trouble and finish on the lead lap. If we can do that I will feel that we have had a successful day and that we have represented Great Clips properly."

Stringer Motorsports owner, Doug Stringer, is always happy to give up-and-coming drivers a shot at progressing their careers.

"Kasey (Kahne) has been telling me about an up-and-coming, young talent named Brad Sweet for the last year or two.  This was not a race I had previously plan to run with our primary driver, Gabi DiCarlo. However, when the opportunity arose to put Brad in the No. 90 Great Clips Toyota for this weekend's race at Kentucky Speedway I didn't even bat an eye. I look forward to seeing what Brad can do in a stock car and to helping him in any way that I can. "

The Click It or Ticket Buckle Up Kentucky 250 will air on SPEED Saturday evening at 9:30pm.
