UNO Joins Hardcore Motorsports ARCA Safety Initiative

“As an ARCA Sponsor that activates its program by positioning students into the competitive arena of the series as crew members and officials, supporting the Hardcore Motorsports ARCA Safety Initiative is a natural progression on our part,” said David Hale, PR Director for UNO. “We emphasize safety in every aspect of our curriculum at UNO, and the ability to help ARCA with their Safety Initiative is a perfect fit for us and our students.”

The Hardcore Motorsports ARCA Safety Initiative was publicly introduced during the 2005 ARCA RE/MAX Series National Awards Banquet last December. The project has been designed as a vertically integrated safety program within the ARCA Sanctioning Body, focusing on education and information as well as prevailing safety measures and projects.

“We feel as though this partnership with UNO will bring much, much more than financial support to the Hardcore Motorsports ARCA Safety Initiative,” said Mark Gundrum, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for ARCA.  “A significant element of the Safety Initiative is education and information, and what better partner to have than the University of Northwestern Ohio, the Official High-Performance training college of ARCA!”

The University of Northwestern Ohio is an entrepreneurial, not-for-profit institution of higher learning providing quality education and training in response to the needs and aspirations of our constituents, preparing students for careers and productive citizenship that include and encompass the business, professional, corporate and technological communities. The school is a co-educational, residential, private institution founded in 1920. It enrolls approximately 3100 students in the Colleges of Business, Technologies, and Distance Learning

Within the college of Technologies, UNO offers High Performance Technology courses, where students prepare for entry-level positions in the high-performance industy by acquiring both the technical and management skills currently applicable to the industry. Through a partnership with ARCA, UNO Students are provided the opportunity to experience hands-on training as members of select ARCA RE/MAX Series and ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series Teams.

In addition, UNO offers an annual scholarship program to ARCA Members or immediate family to ARCA members. The scholarships are presented each year at the ARCA RE/MAX Series National Awards Banquet in December.
