ARCA Short Track Safety Training Set For Saturday

Marc Williams, Manager of Safety Services for ARCA, and the Hardcore Motorsports ARCA Safety Initiative, will lead the training seminar, scheduled to provide members of the Toledo Speedway and Flat Rock Speedway Safety Teams with instruction and information on numerous elements within the safety sector.

“We annually gather the fire and safety crew members from the short tracks each spring for a training and refresher course,” said Williams. “This year, with the support of Hardcore Motorsports and the ARCA Safety Initiative, we will be able to provide an even broader agenda, and introduce some new techniques in addition to the basic training framework.”

The outline for the training session includes use and maintenance procedure for hand-held and mounted fire suppression equipment; operation and maintenance of rescue and extraction tools, plus lives training on fire containment and suppression and extrication.

Hardcore Motorsports, the Brighton, MI high-performance retailer and title sponsor of the ARCA Safety Initiative, has donated a stock car chassis for the purpose of the training session.

The Hardcore Motorsports ARCA Safety Initiative was publicly introduced during the 2005 ARCA RE/MAX Series National Awards Banquet last December. The project has been designed as a vertically integrated safety program within the ARCA Sanctioning Body, focusing on education and information as well as prevailing safety measures and projects.
