Nemechek, Elliott up front, Self 12th to start SpeedFest 200

(CORDELE, Ga. – January 25, 2015) – Seventeen-year-old John Hunter Nemechek will start up front in today’s SpeedFest 200 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Georgia, the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS non-points race season opener.

Nemechek, the son of longtime NASCAR driver Joe Nemechek, will start alongside of Chase Elliott, 2014 NASCAR Xfinity Champion and the youngest superspeedway winner in ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards history. NASCAR veteran David Ragan will line up third with defending ARCA Racing Series SCOTT Rookie of the Year Austin Wayne Self starting 12th. Anderson Bowen, another ARCA Racing Series regular, will line up two spots behind Self.

Self will also start in the 12th position for the SpeedFest 125, the first race of the day.

SpeedFest 2015 consists of a 200-lap ARCA/CRA Super Series Super Late Model special non-points event and a 125-lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Pro Late Model special non-points event. The Speedfest 200 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series will have a break at lap 100 and will count yellow flag laps up to lap 175. The SpeedFest 125 for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Models will be a four-tire only event and will count yellow flag laps up to lap 100.

Racing begins about 2 p.m. today.
