Enfinger plans full season with GMS Racing

(STATESVILLE, N.C. – February 4, 2015) – Grant Enfinger will return to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards with GMS Racing for the 2015 season, team officials announced today. Enfinger will start the season next week at Daytona International Speedway, piloting the No. 23 Alamo Rent-A-Car Chevrolet in the Lucas Oil 200 presented by AutoZone.

Enfinger, 30, kicked off the 2014 season with three consecutive wins and captured three additional victories, 11 top-five, 15 top-10 finishes and one pole award, on his way to a second-place finish in the driver championship point standings and claimed the prestigious Bill France Four Crown award. Enfinger was also awarded the honorable H.G. Adcox Sportsmanship Award at the post-season ARCA banquet.

“Last season was a great year for us and all of the guys have worked really hard throughout the off-season, giving us a chance to get that trophy in Daytona.” Enfinger said. “We moved up to Statesville (N.C.) at the end of last year. It’s taken a lot of effort from the team, but we are where we want to be with just a few weeks until our first time out in 2015.”

This season will be Enfinger’s third full-time season in the ARCA Racing Series and his eighth consecutive year of making at least one start in the series. The Fairhope, Ala. native has 72 career starts, eight victories, two pole awards, 32 top-five and 48 top-10 finishes with 1,605 laps led. He led more than 1,000 laps during the 2014 season alone. His other full-time season was 2011, when he finished fourth in the driver point standings with Allgaier Motorsports.

“Grant (Enfinger) proved last season he has what it takes to win races and compete for a championship,” said Nic Moncher, GMS Racing’s Team Manager. “We’re happy to have him as part of the GMS Racing family for 2015.”

Enfinger will have a teammate at Daytona. Scott Sheldon is entered in the Allegiant Travel Chevrolet for the race, which will be live on Fox Sports 1 at 4 p.m. Feb. 14.

GMS Racing, formerly Gallagher Motorsports, picked up its first three ARCA victories last season, two from Enfinger and one with Spencer Gallagher at Kansas Speedway.

GMS Racing fields full-time cars in both the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards and trucks in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Among its Camping World Truck Series drivers are Gallagher, Brandon Jones, Austin Dillon and Ty Dillon.

So glad tha he is returning to race another full season. He should've won the championship last year, not Mason Mitchell.
