6-time ARCA winner Poole ninth in Xfinity debut

(TOLEDO, Ohio – March 7, 2015) – Six-time ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards winner Brennan Poole made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut a successful one Saturday, scoring a top 10 finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The Texas native was making his debut for HScott Motorsports and Chip Ganassi in the No. 42 DC Solar Solutions Chevrolet. He finished ninth in a race won by Austin Dillon.

“Man, I needed to be better on restarts!” Poole Tweeted Saturday. “Had a lot of fun today and learned a lot!”

He plans a schedule of 15 Xfinity Series races this season.

In 35 ARCA starts, Poole has 18 top-five and 27 top-10s to go with four career poles. He won in his first ARCA start in 2011 at Salem and has won at least once for four straight years. In the off-season, he signed with Team BCR to run 10 ARCA Racing Series events, including Daytona. After the NASCAR Xfinity Series announcement in Daytona in February, however, Poole withdrew from Daytona to focus on his Xfinity program.

Poole told FOX Sports Jay Pennell that his excitement level was high about making his Xfinity debut.

"The first time I walked into the shop, I couldn't believe I was standing in the shop," Poole said. "The first time I saw my name on the car ... it just blows my mind to see cars on the shop floor with my name on them. I'm still kind of in shock, but I know I have a job to go do, and I'm doing everything I can to prepare the best I can for it."

Poole hopes his ARCA success translates into success at the next level, too.

“I have loved competing in the ARCA Racing Series over the past few years,” Poole said. “It’s been a lot of fun and has given me some great memories.”

Poole said he still hopes to race some ARCA Racing Series events during 2015 if his schedule allows.

“I would love to compete in as many ARCA races this year as possible.”
