DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 10, 2016) – Lira Motorsports, a driver development team for Roush Fenway Racing, continues to turn up the wick in 2016, especially at Daytona Int'l Speedway.

With a plan to run four cars in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards all year, the team will also be busy in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Carlos Lira pose with 59 car“We’ve got a very busy season planned,” said team owner Carlos Lira. “We’re developing drivers under the Roush Fenway Racing banner for both ARCA and the Trucks.

“Both Brandon Lynn and Kyle Weatherman are running for the ARCA championship…Lynn in the 36 and Weatherman in the 58. We’ll be running a variety of drivers in the 38 and 59 all season…Travis Swaim, Gray Gaulding and several others. Ryan Reed and Bubba Wallace are going to be driving the 38 and 59 cars at the first Pocono ARCA race.”

Reed competed in three ARCA races with Lira Motorsports in 2015, winning at Chicagoland and Kentucky, and earning top-five finishes in all three events, while leading 102 laps.

“ARCA is the way to go to get drivers to that next step,” Lira added. “We’re big believers in this series and very proud to represent Roush Fenway Racing in the ARCA Racing Series. We’ll be announcing more drivers that will be running Lira Motorsports Fords in the ARCA Series this year, so be on the lookout for that.”

Lira Motorsports is fielding four cars in Saturday’s Lucas Oil 200 Driven By General Tire at Daytona with Penn Yan, N.Y.’s Brandon Lynn in the No. 36 Cribs Creek Outfitters Ford and Colonial Heights, Va.’s Gray Gaulding in the No. 38 Krispy Kreme Ford. Gaulding is celebrating his 18th birthday today (Wednesday, February 10). If Gaulding is able to win the race, he’ll surpass Kyle Petty as the youngest stock car winner ever at Daytona. Wentzville, Mo.’s Kyle Weatherman is driving the No. 58 St. Charles Auto Glass Ford with Alhambra, Calif.’s Jairo Avila in the No. 59 NexGenFuel-MOMO-TraqGear Ford. Avila, one of five drivers in NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program, is also racing in the Sunday afternoon NASCAR K&N East season-opener at New Smyrna Speedway.

Lira Motorsports will also be fielding two NASCAR Camping World Truck entries at Daytona with Reed in the 58 Truck and Korbin Forrister in the 59, both veterans of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.
