MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Dec. 13, 2016) – Multiple-time CARS Super Late Model Tour race winner Quin Houff and ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards championship team Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) announced today they will partner for the ARCA season-opener at Daytona International Speedway in February. The deal, a one-race agreement, is contingent upon successful participation in the ARCA open test at Daytona in mid-January.

MMM won the ARCA Racing Series championship in 2014 with its namesake, Mason Mitchell, behind the wheel. Soon thereafter, the team became a highly-sought after group for young drivers who wanted to bolster their careers and have opportunities to win races. Drivers that raced with MMM over the last three years include Noah Gragson, John Wes Townley, ARCA dirt race winner Justin Haley, and last year’s Talladega winner Gus Dean. In total, the team earned six wins in three full-time seasons.

“It’s great to have a talented and proven driver like Quin Houff racing for us at Daytona,” said Mitchell. “He’s done a fantastic job in the late model ranks the last few seasons and has earned this opportunity. We look forward to having success with him at the test and the race at Daytona.”

In addition to its history with young drivers, MMM and Houff will have the guidance of Kevin Reed atop the pit box. Reed is the defending winning crew chief at Daytona, calling the shots for winner John Wes Townley in 2016.

A year ago, Houff, of Weyers Cave, Va., burst onto the scene with a surprise victory in the CARS Super Late Model Tour at Tri-County Motor Speedway in North Carolina, then won the season-opener in 2016.

“I am beyond excited to get back in a race car,” said Houff. “Performance Marketing Group made us look at whether to focus on the remainder of this season or to start putting our focus on the next and come up with a plan. So, that's what we did, and I am now fortunate enough to race at Daytona next's definitely a dream come true for me.”

Houff will climb behind the wheel with the MMM team during the ARCA open test at Daytona in January. For the first time in his career, Houff will be able to take in restrictor-plate, superspeedway-style racing while having the guidance of Mason Mitchell and his team to help with his learning curve. Mason Mitchell Motorsports won the most recent ARCA restrictor-plate race at Talladega last May.

“I'm going into Daytona being all ears since this is something completely different than I have ever done before with the speeds and the aerodynamics,” Houff said. “Luckily, Mason Mitchell Motorsports has a good history at the superspeedways and they have great experience to help me learn along the way. This will definitely be a nerve-wracking and pressure-filled race for me considering this is the only race we have locked in for now in 2017. But at the end of the day, I’m just going to go out there and do what I do to the best of my abilities and leave the rest up to the Lord, and all else will fall into place.”
