Brandon Lynn back in business... ready for General Tire 200 at Talladega

TALLADEGA, Ala. (May 6, 2017) -- It's been about a year since Brandon Lynn climbed into an ARCA car. Naturally, he was a bit relieved after he ended up P7 on the practice charts Friday. He knows he's in a good car. He'll need one coming from the 20th starting position in this afternoon's 55th running of the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway.

"I'm not worried about starting in the back," said Lynn. "The way this field is spread out by points, there are a lot of good cars in the back. We just need to get with a good pack, work our way forward and start looking for our teammates."

Lynn will have two teammates to choose from in the three-car Mason Mitchell Motorsports stable he's part of this weekend. One of his teammates, Kyle Weatherman, starts fifth. His other teammate, Leilani Munter, starts behind Lynn in 28th.

Lynn will also have some expert help in his corner for the race. Mason Mitchell, the 2014 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards champion, is on top the pit box as crew chief. He'll also have veteran spotter Eddie D'Hondt on the spotters stand.

"I've got the very best help with me today. I know we're in a really good car…I really think we can win this thing. We only made seven laps in practice yesterday with not a lot of drafting. I'm not surprised we're that fast. Mason Mitchell Motorsports has great equipment. It was a big relief to see ourselves top of the board yesterday. It'll be a bigger relief to go to Victory Lane."

Mason Mitchell Motorsports brought the car. Lynn, along with his father, brought the sponsorships.

"We got a call from Mason to run the car. We made some contact with some sponsors and were able to put a deal together. Me and my dad put it together. Hopefully, we can work with Remodeez in the future and put a few more of these deals together. It feels great to be back in ARCA…we'd love to run some more."

Lynn is also carrying sponsorship from Worth-A-Shot here at Talladega.

Lynn recently earned a top-15 finish at Bristol Motor Speedway with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East.

Lynn has seven ARCA starts to his credit with a career best finish of sixth coming last spring at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville.

“I am really honored to be working with Mason, Kevin Reed and everyone at MMM. They prepare amazing cars and their equipment is always top notch. Hopefully we can put the 88 back in contention and earn two wins in a row for MMM at Talladega. I want to thank Worth-a-Shot Gun Shop and Remodeez for coming on board for this race at the last minute."
