STATESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 12, 2017) – NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) rookie Myatt Snider will return to ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards competition Thursday with Mason Mitchell Motorsports, driving the Liberty Tax Service/Louisiana Hot Sauce No. 78 in the SCOTT 150.
“I Learned a lot about the track itself racing in this event last year,” said Snider. “Chicago is a pretty bumpy place, but it's fast and there are lots of grooves to race in. It’s a fun place to race at for a driver.”
Snider will pull double duty at Chicagoland Speedway, adding the NCWTS Chicagoland 225 Friday night, driving the No. 51 Louisiana Hot Sauce Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM).
“I hope to learn about where the limits of the track are. Getting comfortable and learning for Friday's race is going to be important for me. This MMM team has a lot of experience and prepares fast cars. Hopefully we can end the evening in victory lane on Thursday.”
Snider won in his ARCA debut in 2016 at Toledo Speedway. He has nine prior ARCA starts to his credit earning one win, three top-fives and five top-10 finishes.
Snider has competed in three NCWTS events in 2017 for KBM. He earned a career best 10th place finish in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway.
“Making the adjustment into Trucks has gone well this season. The biggest adjustment is just getting used to how much grip a truck has. It's pretty different from an ARCA car. I'm starting to come into stride with it.”
The 22-year-old will be the 17th different driver to race for MMM during the 2017 ARCA campaign.
Chassis Selection: Snider will race chassis No. 593 out of the MMM stable. This is the same car that Justin Haley raced to the win last month at the Pocono Raceway. The chassis is also the same car that Mason Mitchell won with in the 2014 Chicagoland SCOTT 150. The chassis has 16 starts, earning two wins (Chicago 2014, August Pocono 2017), six top-five and nine top-10 finishes.
MMM at Chicagoland: MMM has three prior starts at the 1.5-mile track. The team earned their first career ARCA win in 2014 at Chicagoland Speedway with Mason Mitchell behind the wheel. In three starts the team has one win, one top-five and two top-10 finishes.
Next up for ARCA is The Scott 150 at the Chicagoland Speedway Thursday, September 14th. It marks the first of three 1.5-mile tracks to end the 2017 ARCA season. Drivers will practice from 2-3:30. General Tire pole qualifying will set the field for the 100-lap race at 5:30. The SCOTT 150 is live on FS1 at 8 ET. ARCAracing.com will have live timing and scoring and live chat for all on-track activities.
