ARCA Returns to Iowa Speedway July 19, 2019 as Part of Iowa Speedweeks Kickoff

The 2019 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule is starting to come together as Iowa Speedway has announced the ARCA will return to the 7/8-mile oval on Friday night, July 19, 2019. The ARCA Racing Series will share the weekend with the stars of IndyCar, which will compete in the Iowa Corn 300 the following evening.

The combination of the ARCA Racing Series stock cars and the open wheel IndyCar series and its support divisions will give race fans a diverse weekend of close quarters, competitive short track racing.

“We have appreciated racing on the Fourth of July weekend at Iowa Speedway with IndyCar, but this later July date will be welcomed by the ARCA community,” said ARCA president Ron Drager. “The ARCA race under the lights is a great show, and makes it a little easier on our fans to be out of the heat of the day when we go racing. We were proud to be a part of Iowa Speedway's inaugural season in 2006 and we're pleased to continue that tradition in 2019.”

ARCA first raced at Iowa Speedway in October, 2006 in a race won by Steven Wallace. Other ARCA winners at Iowa include Frank Kimmel, Matt Hawkins, NASCAR on NBC commentator Parker Kligerman, Tom Hessert III, current Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers Ty Dillon and Alex Bowman, former series champions Grant Enfinger and Mason Mitchell, NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Chase Briscoe, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Dalton Sargeant, and current ARCA Racing Series championship leader Sheldon Creed. In twelve previous ARCA races at Iowa there has yet to be a repeat winner.
