Former ARCA Champion Allgaier Wins NXS at Indy

Jusin Allgaier, 2008 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards national champion, won the Lilly Diabetes 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Monda afternoon. The race was originally scheduled for Saturday but was postponed 48 hours by the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon, the same storm system that forced the postponement of Friday night's Shore Lunch 200 at Lucas Oil Raceway.

Allgaier, driving the JR Motorsports No. 7 Dove Men+ Care Chevrolet, led 41 of the race's 100 laps, finishing 0.092 seconds ahead of teammate Tyler Reddick.

The win was Allgaier's fifth of the season, which has doubled his career win total. The win also moves Allgaier to the top of the NASCAR XFINITY Series standings.

Chase Briscoe, the 2016 ARCA national champion, made his debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and finished ninth in the Roush Fenway Racing No. 60 Nutri Chomps Ford. Briscoe had never made a lap at IMS prior to the weekend, and with practice and qualifying washed out, his first laps around the track were in the race.

Other drivers with ARCA experience in the field include Ryan Blaney in third, Chase Elliott in fourth, Matt Tifft in sixth, two time Salem winner Christopher Bell in seventh, Austin Dillon in eighth, and Brandon Jones in tenth. Ty Dillon, the 2011 series champion, finished 33rd after being involved in an accident.

Way to go brother

I have always followed Chris Buescher too. He is another ARCA champion who has done well in Nasacar.

Justin is on a roll!

He sure is! Good to see! He's one of the classiest guys in racing. Glad to see our ARCA grads making some noise.

Always great to see former ARCA drivers have success up the ladder! Justin has to be a favorite to win the NXS championship this season.
