Joe Graf, Jr., No. 77 Big Tine Ford Preview: Salem

Five months ago in April, Joe Graf Jr. limped into the Salem Speedway with a broken foot in only his second ARCA career start. The challenging Indiana oval has always been a racer favorite and Graf left Salem with confidence that with an 11th place finish he and his Chad Bryant team would be ready to win when they returned five months later.

“First, I want to take a moment and remember 9/11 and those who gave their lives,” said Graf. “It is a day where all Americans need to come together. Looking back on my first trip to Salem I remember the that I was not only learning how to drive the heavy ARCA stock cars, trying to figure out how to overcome my broken foot but just getting to know the Chad Bryant Racing team.”

Graf has had a solid rookie campaign where he has shown that when the No. 77 Chad Bryant Racing Ford unloads at a short track that when the checkered flag falls you will most likely see Joe battling for a top spot.

“We are really good at the short tracks, “added Graf. “With great finishes at Toledo, Elko and our win at Berlin we really are excited for this week’s race. This is only the second track that I have raced at more than once this year and that gives us even more optimism.”

The freshman at NYU in New York City currently sits eighth in ARCA series points and looks to close out the 2018 campaign with strong races at Salem, Lucas Oil Raceway and Kansas.
