Former ARCA Winner Chase Elliott Takes Dover Cup Win

Chase Elliott, who became the youngest superspeedway winner in ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards history when he won at Pocono Raceway in 2013, scored his second Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series win of the season with an overtime victory in Sunday's Gander Outdoors 400 at Dover International Speedway.

Elliott capitalized on a series of late race cautions to take the lead with 11 laps to go. He held off a hard-charging Denny Hamlin by about a quarter of a second to take the win and advance into the next round of the NASCAR playoffs.

Former ARCA winner Joey Logano finished third, and Erik Jones, who held the record for the youngest winner in ARCA history when he won at Berlin in 2013, finished fifth.

Other ARCA winners in the top ten included Kyle Busch in eighth and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. in ninth.

Busch stays second in the series standings heading in to the next series race at Talladega Superspeedway next Sunday. Logano is fourth, Elliott fifth, former ARCA Late Model winner and former Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski is sixth, Kyle Larson is eleventh, and Alex Bowman is twelfth.
