Joey Logano Leads former ARCA Winners in Cup Race at Texas

Three former ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards winners ended up in the top five in Sunday's AAA Texas 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Third-place finisher Joey Logano, a two-time ARCA winner, finished third, in front of Erik Jones and Kyle Larson, each of whom both have one career ARCA win on their resume. Kevin Harvick was the race winner.

By virtue of his win at Martinsville last Sunday, Logano is already locked into the series' championship round in two weeks at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Jones was eliminated from the playoffs in the first round, while Larson was eliminated in the second round.

Kyle Busch, who has three career ARCA Racing Series wins, is currently second in the standings and, even without a win to automatically lock into the final round, has a solid chance at racing for the championship at Homestead. He has a 28-point lead over his brother Kurt with just the race at Phoenix left.

Chase Elliott, who was sixth at Texas, a former ARCA winner at Pocono and a three-time Cup Series winner in 2018, is currently sixth in the standings and needs to win at ISM Raceway in Phoenix to advance to the final round at Homestead.

Other former ARCA winners in the field included eleventh-place finisher Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., 13th-place Paul Menard, 14th-place Alex Bowman, 18th-place Ryan Newman, 21st-place Trevor Bayne, 22nd-place Ty Dillon, 23rd-place Chris Buescher, 24th-place David Ragan, 29th-place Michael McDowell, 31st-place Parker Kligerman, 34th-place Kyle Weatherman, and 40th-place Corey LaJoie.

The Cup Series is back in action next Sunday at ISM Raceway in Phoenix. The race will be seen live on NBC at 2:30 pm ET.

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will celebrate Sheldon Creed's 2018 series championship in the annual Championship Awards Banquet on Saturday, December 8 in the Sagamore Ballroom at the Indiana State Convention Center in conjuction with the Performance Industry Trade Show. Tickets for the black tie ceremony are available at The general public is welcome to attend.
