DGR-Crosley Racing Preview: Daytona

DGR-Crosley heads to Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway this weekend for the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards season opener. The team will field two entries in Saturday's Lucas Oil 200; the No. 4 Frontline Enterprises Toyota Camry driven by Todd Gilliland and the No. 54 N29 Technologies Toyota Camry for Natalie Decker.

Both Decker and Gilliland will head to Daytona with confidence after a successful pre-season test last month. For 18-year-old Gilliland, this will be his first time racing on the famed two and a half mile track in Daytona, Fla. He has six previous ARCA Racing Series starts where he's put together an impressive resume. Gilliland is the youngest driver to win an ARCA Racing Series event after being victorious in his series debut at Toledo (Ohio) Speedway at the age of 15. In his six races, he has one win, three top-five and five top-10 finishes. He also has collected one General Tire Pole Award which occurred at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway last season.

Decker is no stranger to the ARCA Racing Series. The 21-year-old Eagle River, Wis. native, raced full-time in the series in 2018 as well as taking on a part-time schedule in 2017. This time last year, Decker won the General Tire Pole Award at Daytona International Speedway before going on to collect a career-best fifth-place finish. In 27 ARCA Racing Series starts, she has two top-five and 11 top-10 finishes with an average finishing position of 12th-place. Decker will have veteran crew chief Frank Kerr calling the shots from the pit box for the General Tire 200, and Cup Series spotter Kevin Hamlin on the spotter stand.

Decker on Daytona: "I can't even tell you how excited I am to get this season with DGR-Crosley underway. It's been a great experience already, and I'm learning so much from everyone in the shop. Frank [Kerr, crew chief] and the guys have been working hard, and I know they are going to unload a fast Camry for me in Daytona. I was racing with a different team last year but we had a really good race there [Daytona], and I think that experience is going to help me a lot this weekend. I'm just trying to learn as much as possible and take it all in to help prepare me for my Truck Series debut next weekend. I have a great group of guys working on my car, and I'm really happy to be a part of this organization. Looking forward to an awesome year."

Gilliland on Daytona: "I'm excited to get back to a race track and get the season started. Really happy that Frontline Enterprises is returning this year. They've supported me through so many stages of my career, and it's a really big deal for me that they continue to support me. This is our only ARCA race that we have on the schedule right now, but hopefully, we can add a few more in as the season goes on. I always enjoy working with my crew chief Chris Lawson and all the guys at DGR-Crosley. We're looking for a strong run at Daytona, and hopefully, I'll be able to get some experience that will help me on the Truck side as well."

The Lucas Oil 200 will be broadcast live on FS1 beginning at 4:30 p.m., ET on Saturday, February 9.

Best of luck to Decker #54 & T. Gilliland #4 in the race saturday.

I hope you both have a great race, and really be excited if either of you win, as much as i really like Todd, i think himand his whole family is like awesome as hell, and when i saw Todd so young, winning races, and championships at 15 geesh wow!  But it Would be really cool and earned if Natalie Won over Todd, IF it had to come down to it, that way people can see this young awesome racer Lady is really good, and show anyone that she has talent. Shame she couldn't win races last year, she had many awesome cars, and alot of chances at winning all for some reason, backfire. But I always believe in the Natalie saw her in K&N too, far as i recall, the lady has good personality, great skill, and i hope she can show them in any truck race, or ARCA and win her first race, that be sooo cool! Even though its hard due to i really like Todd equally with her, but if i had to choose, who needs it, its hard, but i say Natalie hopefully they both finish well if not a win. Great drivers better than any in cup i say. BUt i am just saying. IMO.
