Salem Speedway Weather Update: 12:10 pm ET

The sun has broken through the clouds here at Salem Speedway, greatly helping the track drying efforts as we count down to the scheduled 2 pm ET start of the ARCA Menards Series Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200. Track and series safety vehicles have been circulating for the last 45 minutes to generate heat in the asphalt, but Mother Nature herself turned the heat on and brought the sunshine which has greatly helped the process. ARCA officials are still watching the weather radar closely as there is still a chance of inclement weather throughout the day. Check back at ARCARacing.com at 1:15 pm ET for another weather and schedule update.

Drove down from Columbus Ohio. First time to Salem. Enjoyed the track. Weather was a challenge all weekend. Support race was entertaining and ARCA did the best they could do considering the weather. It's an outdoor sport, rain happens.

Glad you enjoyed the track!

Thanks for making the drive to come hang out with us, Tim :)

You could see parts of the track already drying during the MAVTV broadcast...  very busch league to run 101 laps and call it.

It rained again. And again  And again. We got in as many laps as Mother Nature allowed.

Could’ve waited longer than 15 minutes to call the race.  Some fans drove an hour or more for a race that lasted 35 minutes and got zero effort to dry the track. From what I hear the rain stopped less than a half hour later. Weak.

I drove down from Indianapolis (2 hour drive) and yes it stopped raining 30 minutes after they called the race

And then it rained again, Kyle. We got is as many laps as Mother Nature allowed today. Sorry you didn't get what you were looking for. Hopefully the next time you come to the track the weather is better. Thanks for coming!
