-Mayer added the ARCA event at Madison to his schedule last week after the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race in Thompson, Conn., was canceled. The Franklin, Wis., native has never raced at MIS, but is excited to be so close to home.
-The GMS team will bring chassis 408 to Madison. This is the same car he raced at Pensacola, Salem and Toledo earlier this year. He finished second at Salem, fifth at Toledo and 15th at Pensacola after a mechanical issue.
--This will be the fourth of eight ARCA races Mayer is scheduled to compete in this season.

"Getting the chance to race close to home is really cool. Having all my family and friends come out to watch and support me is going to be really exciting and I hope we can pull out a win for all of them. I've never raced at Madison before, so hopefully we can have a smooth practice, I can get a feel for the track and we'll put ourselves in position to be contenders for the win Friday night.”

GMS Racing competes full-time in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series with drivers Brett Moffitt and Sheldon Creed, and in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with John Hunter Nemechek. The team also expanded their competition to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, as well as in the ARCA Racing Series with Sam Mayer and Super Late Models with Toni Breidinger. Since the team began in 2014, GMS Racing won the 2016 NGOTS Championship and has grown to occupy several buildings located in Statesville, N.C. The campus also includes operations for GMS Fabrication. More information can be found at
