Five With The Five: How Joe Graf Is Keeping Busy Over The Two Week ARCA Break

Five With The Five: How Joe Graf Is Keeping Busy Over The Two Week ARCA Break

Andrea: Hey, how's it goin?

Joe: Doing good!

Andrea: So, we've had a bit of time off now, what have you been up to Joe?

Joe: Well, I had a Xfinity test on Monday in Bristol.  I did an appearance at Victory Junction with them on Tuesday, that was a lot of fun, got to hang out with a bunch of the kids. Then, on my way to RCR now to do a video with Brian, we're making some content over at RCR today, so that will be a lot of fun.

Andrea: Ohh! Can you give us a little hint, or no?

Joe: Haha no. I'm going to make you wait until he puts it out.

Andrea: All right.

Joe: It will be a lot of fun. But, doing that now, then I'm going back up north, I'm running Legend Stock this weekend in Bethal Speedway.

Andrea: Fun! So, you said you were at Bristol, I think you've told me that's one of your favorites, right? So, that must have been exciting to be back. Not your ...

Joe: Yeah, I like Bristol a lot. I've only ever been there in a late model, so it was a lot different than the Xfinity car there, but I've always loved the track since I was a little kid.

Andrea: Right, I'm sure that makes it even more special, being there as a kid, and now driving an Xfinity car there. That has to feel so cool!

Joe: Yeah, it’s crazy! That... running that race has been on my bucket list forever. I've always wanted to run the Bristol Night Race. I'm really grateful for the opportunity and I'm excited to make the most of it.

Andrea: Definitely. You said you were (you and RCR) were hanging with some kids a day or two ago, what all was going on there?

Joe: Well yeah, we went down to Victory Junction. Got to meet all of the kids there. It was really nice to see kids that went through a traumatic experience just get back to being kids. It was really rewarding for me.

Andrea: So these are all ...

Joe: Yeah, it's all kids that can't go to a normal Summer Camp, right.

Andrea: Ah! Okay!

Joe: They go there, it's just really nice to see them get back to just being kids. It was a lot of fun. It was, they were all super happy. I got to drive the pit stop car for them. Do some pit stops.

Andrea: Oh nice.

Joe: I bowled with them, played some carnival games with them. It was a lot of fun.I got a pie to the face from one the kids there. That was a lot of fun.

Andrea: So Summer Camp for you kind of too, right.

Joe: Yeah, exactly!

Andrea: Right. We are going dirt racing next, I know some people love it, some people hate it. Where do you stand?

Joe: I am indifferent.  I don't like or dislike them to be honest with you. They're fun, they're just very different.

Andrea: Sure.

Joe: I have Bristol in the Xfinity car before I ditched dirt racing and folks saw that a lot.

Andrea: Makes sense.

Joe: I actually just left Friday, and then, I have Bristol that Friday and then I have the dirt race on Sunday.

Andrea: Right, okay. Your two week break with us, isn't really a break at all? Yeah.

Joe: No.

Andrea: No.

Joe: Not really. I have a bit of time off but, as I said, I was just testing Bristol behind the simulator all next week. Then we go race. Then we go, we are already back with you guys.

Andrea: Right. Flies by. Well, it looks like that's been about five minutes, from what I'm looking at. I'll let you get back to your day, I know you have to get to RCR. So, I'll keep it short.

Joe: Awesome thank you so much. I appreciate it.

Andrea: Not a problem. Thanks Joe.
