Food World 250 Thursday Morning Notes and Quotes

Full Day of Tech on Wednesday: On-Track Activity Begins Today
On Wednesday, ARCA RE/MAX Series officials spent a full day on technical inspections in preparation for this weekend’s Food World 250 ARCA RE/MAX Series event. Talladega and Daytona are the only two events on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule that mandates the use of carburetor restrictor plates. 

Thursday marks the first day of on-track activity for the ARCA RE/MAX Series. A practice session is scheduled from 9-11:30 a.m. and Pork Pole Qualifying is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. A final practice session is scheduled for Friday morning. The Food World 250 starts at 4:30 p.m. Central. The race will be aired on SPEED at 8 p.m. Eastern.

TALLADEGA AL (9-20-05) - Fresh from his Salem victory, rookie Joey Miller's still on the fast-track. The Farmington, Minnesota driver was fastest overall in open testing Tuesday afternoon at Talladega Superspeedway. Miller, in the #9 Eagle Creek Aviation-Country Joe Homes Dodge, posted an unofficial top speed of 184.473 mph around the 2.66-mile superspeedway.

By doing so, the 20-year-old Farmington, Minnesota driver has clinched the Pork Chopper award for 2005, which includes a brand-new Harley-Davidson special edition motorcycle as part of the award.
