Miller Wins Pork Pole at Chicagoland; New Track Record

JOLIET IL (9-9-05)  ARCA RE/MAX Series rookie Joey Miller, in the #9 Country Joe Homes-Eagle Creek Aviation Dodge, earned his 6th career Pork Pole Award Friday afternoon at Chicagoland Speedway. By doing so, the 20-year-old Farmington, Minnesota driver has clinched the Pork Chopper award for 2005, which includes a brand-new Harley-Davidson special edition motorcycle as part of the award. Miller also smashed the one-lap track record with a new top speed of 177.212 mph eclipsing the old mark of 174.633 mph set by Chad Blount in 2002. "It was definitely a good day overall," said Miller. "We made a few adjustments for qualifying today, and it paid off. The good part is that we're going to be great in race trim too. Last year here, we gambled on a set-up and wrecked in qualifying, so I'm liking this year at Chicagoland much better." ...
