Gerhart's Gold at Daytona; Record 4th Consecutive Pole

DAYTONA BEACH FL (2-10-06) - Whenever the ARCA RE/MAX Series makes its annual pilgrimage to Daytona Int'l Speedway, you can always count on a few things: the entry lists are usually lengthy, the weather is normally a refreshing break from the wintry mix at ARCA world headquarters, and Bobby Gerhart is usually fast.

Gerhart is so fast in fact, that he captured a record fourth Daytona ARCA 200 Pork Pole award Friday, becoming the only driver in the history of the series to earn four poles at the 2.5-mile speedplant, let alone four consecutive.

“It’s been five year of long, hard work,” said Gerhart. “We got the opportunity to put everything where we wanted it to. We started last year trying to build a car that would have a little bit more down force and along the way it looks like we didn’t even lose any speed."...

Gerhart Makes History at Daytona, 4 Good!!

DAYTONA BEACH FL (2-12-06) – ARCA RE/MAX Series veteran Bobby Gerhart, in his own Lucas Oil Chevrolet, capped off a picture perfect week with a dominating and historical victory Sunday at Daytona Int’l Speedway.

After earning a record fourth consecutive Pork Pole award on Friday, the Lebanon, Pennsylvania driver etched his name in the history books deeper yet after winning a record fourth Daytona ARCA 200. Gerhart had been tied with the late six-time series champion Iggy Katona with three victories at the renowned 2.5-mile speedplant. Additionally, Gerhart became the first-ever back-to-back RE/MAX Series winner at Daytona, which ran its inaugural race there in 1964.

“We prepared so much more for this race this year than ever before, and here we are,” said a jubilant Gerhart from victory lane....

Kinser Conquers Talladega; Kimmel Claims Crown

TALLADEGA AL (10-1-05) - It was only his second career ARCA RE/MAX Series start, but Kraig Kinser was the class of the field at Talladega Superspeedway Saturday afternoon, leading 83 of 113 laps en route to his career first victory in the Food World 300.

Kinser dominated for much of the weekend, earning the Pork Pole award on Thursday and posting the quickest speed during final practice on Friday.

And, despite a small rookie mistake, Kinser, part of a driver development program for MB2 Motorsports, was able to recover and dominate at the 2.66-mile speedplant.

“We were definitely strong,” said Kinser. “I think we had to prove that when we made a mistake coming out of the pits. I didn’t use the blend line so I had to go to the tail end of the longest line. It definitely was a lot more experience going through the field and feeling the draft a little bit more.”...
