SCOTT Rookie of the Year contender Chase Purdy, in his first Daytona start, was among the top-four drivers who were racing for the lead when they tangled on the last lap. After shaking off Daytona, the Meridian, Mississippi driver sets his sights on Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville for the Music City 200 coming Saturday night, April 7.
After making his successful ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut with Mason Mitchell Motorsports in 2017, Chase has signed on with MDM Motorsports to run the full 2018 ARCA schedule. Chase made his ARCA debut at Winchester Speedway in 2017, finishing 7th from the 3rd starting position, a career-best qualifying effort. Chase also finished an ARCA career-best 6th at Salem Speedway in 2017. He made his ARCA superspeedway debut at Kentucky Speedway in 2017, qualified 7th and finished 17th, falling out 12 laps from the finish. Chase is also a veteran of the CARS Super Late Model Tour and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. Chase finished 4th in K&N points in 2017 with 5 top-5 finishes and 8 top-10s. He also won 4 K&N pole awards.
