With a broken left foot and an extra heavy right foot, rookie Joe Graf, Jr., in the No. 77 Chad Bryant Racing-Big Tine Ford, is making the headlines in his first few starts on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards tour. His most exciting moment was no doubt his runner-up run at Talladega Superspeedway where he brought ARCA championship points leader Zane Smith to the final stripe in a photo finish. By an inch or two, Smith was declared the winner. Nonetheless, Graf got the full attention of the ARCA troops in his first Talladega appearance. In the next race at Toledo Speedway, Graf finished a solid third in his first Toledo attempt. Graf made his ARCA Racing Series debut at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville where he finished 16th after experiencing mechanical difficulties. In one other ARCA start, Graf finished 11th at Salem Speedway. Soon after his photo finish at Talladega, it was announced that Graf would compete full-time on the ARCA tour for the remaining events in 2018. Graf's crew chief is former NASCAR Cup Series champion crew chief Paul Andrews. NASCAR/USAC veteran driver Mike Bliss serves as Graf's driving coach.
