Justin Lofton is the 2009 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards champion. Lofton, from Brawley, California, made 41 career ARCA starts in 2008 and 2009 and scored 7 career ARCA wins before making the move into the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series.
Lofton drove for team owner Eddie Sharp and they combined to win the series title with six wins (Talladega, Berlin, Pocono, Chicago, Toledo, and Salem), fifteen top-five finishes and 19 top-ten finishes in 21 starts.
Lofton ran three full seasons in the Truck Series, first driving for Red Horse Racing in 2010 and then Germain Racing in 2011. He returned to Eddie Sharp Racing in 2012 and they again found success, combining to win at Charlotte. Lofton also finished a career-best eighth in the series standings that season.
After his tenure in the Truck Series ended, Lofton returned to his first love – the desert. He is an overall winner of the prestigious Mint 400, with two wins in 2015 and 2016. He is also a winner in Robby Gordon’s Stadium Super Truck Series, and is a past competitor in the XGames.
The first official track activity of the season will come on Thursday, February 7 when the teams receive two hours of practice starting at 4 pm ET. There will be another hour of practice on Friday, February 8 starting at 9:30 am ET followed by General Tire Pole Qualifying at 3:30 pm ET. The green flag will wave over the expected 40-car field in the Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire at 4:30 pm ET on Saturday, February 9.
