All Venturini Motorsports in General Tire Superspeedway Challenge Standings

The battle for the coveted ARCA Menards Series General Tire Superspeedway Challenge kicked off at Daytona International Speedway, and it’s already a Venturini family affair at the front.

ARCA has conducted the General Tire Superspeedway Challenge each year since 1984, serving as a championship-within-a-championship for team owners that enter events on tracks longer than one mile. In 2019, that includes races at Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte, two events at Pocono, Michigan, Gateway, Chicagoland, and Kansas. Events at Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte, and Pocono – all sponsored by General Tire – will offer double points.

With those double points on the line in the Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire, every position on the track is even more crucial. Race winner Harrison Burton (No. 20 DEX Imaging Toyota) pushed team owner Billy Venturini to the top of the Superspeedway Challenge standings with 470 points. Due to penalties to the teams that finished second and third in the race, his father Bill Venturini is second in the standings with 420 points based on the fourth-place finish by Christian Eckes (No. 15 JBL Audio Toyota). Eckes also earned the General Tire Pole Award at Daytona.

Empire Racing team owner John Corr is third with 410 points based on a fifth-place finish by Sean Corr (No. 43 Nesco Chevrolet), DGR-Crosley’s David Gilliland is fourth with 400 points based on a sixth-place finish by Natalie Decker (No. 54 N29 Capital Technologies Toyota), and Codie Rohrbaugh (No. 7 Grant County Mulch Chevrolet) rounds out the top five at 390 points based on his seventh-place finish at Daytona.

The next General Tire Superspeedway Challenge event is the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway on Friday, April 26. ARCA Menards Series practice will begin on Friday morning at 9:30 am ET/8:30 am CT, General Tire Pole Qualifying is set for 3:35 pm ET/2:35 pm CT, and the General Tire 200 is set to go green at 6 pm ET/5 pm CT and will be televised live on FS1.
