BROOKLYN, Mich. — Bret Holmes is coming off a win in the last speedway race and showed no signs of slowing down Sunday.
Holmes paced the 30-minute ARCA Menards Series practice session in advance of the the afternoon’s VizCom 200 (1 p.m., MAVTV & TrackPass on NBC Gold). Holmes’ No. 23 Holmes Excavating Chevrolet post a fast lap of 39.126 seconds (184.021 mph) around the 2-mile track.

Drew Dollar was second fastest at 39.190 (183.720), while championship points leader and defending Michigan race winner Michael Self was third at 39.433 (182.588). Self enters the 11th event of the 2020 season with a seven-point lead on Holmes.
Ryan Repko was fourth fastest and Riley Herbst fifth.
The starting lineup for the VizCom 200 was set by owners points. Herbst will start on the pole, with Repko on the outside. Self and Holmes make up the second row.

Because of the abbreviated practice session, no car ran more than six laps. Hailie Deegan was sixth fastest, followed by Anthony Alfredo, Kris Wright, Thad Moffitt and Jason Kitzmiller.
