PRACTICE: Will Rodgers Leads Shortened Session At Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Will Rodgers ran just two laps, but it was enough to top the abbreviated practice session Friday afternoon for the evening’s General Tire 100 at the DAYTONA Road Course.

Rodgers’ No. 17 MMI Services Chevrolet went around the 3.61-mile road course at the “World Center of Racing” in 2 minutes, 7.226 seconds (102.149 mph). The practice was ended after 45 minutes due to weather.

Thirteen cars made laps at speed. Among those who did not was ARCA Menards Series championship points leader Michael Self.

Rodgers will start 19th in the 21-car field, however, because the starting lineup has been set by Sioux Chief Showdown owners points.

Sioux Chief Showdown points leader Chandler Smith and Self will make up the front row.
