PRACTICE: Sam Mayer Continues To Lead The Way At Toledo Speedway

TOLEDO, Ohio — Just over a month after winning back-to-back races at Toledo Speedway, Sam Mayer picked up right where he left off Saturday afternoon.

The 17-year-old from Franklin, Wisconsin, paced the 45-minute practice session for Saturday evening’s Royal Truck & Trailer 200. The ARCA Menards Series East points leader drove the No. 21 Lynn Family Foundation Chevrolet around the half-mile in 16.085 seconds (111.906 mph) to top the speed charts.

The race counts toward both the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series East championships.

Hailie Deegan was second fastest in practice at 16.142 (111.510), followed by Taylor Gray at 16.205 (111.077).

Micahel Self and Chandler Smith were fourth and fifth, respectively. Bret Holmes was sixth, followed by Ty Gibbs, Mason Diaz, Drew Dollar and Parker Retzlaff.

Smith leads Holmes by one in the ARCA Menards Series, while Mayer leads Gibbs by 13 in the East.

General Tire Pole Award qualifying for the Royal Truck & Trailer 200 is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET, with the race taking the green flag at 5 p.m. (MAVTV and TrackPass on NBC Gold).
