Snowball Derby Lineup Loaded With ARCA Menards Series Winners, Champions

A lot of ARCA Menards Series talent is scattered throughout the Snowball Derby entry list, from part-timers to former series winners, a former series champion and even a former winner who has gone on to become a NASCAR Cup Series champion.

Grant Enfinger, the 2015 ARCA Menards Series champion, has filed an entry for Sunday’s race at 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida, and is looking for his first win in the 300-lap crown jewel at one of his home racetracks. Enfinger competed in the ARCA Menards Series East race at 5 Flags in October, finishing fifth after starting from the General Tire Pole.

Chase Elliott, the reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion, has filed an entry for the 53rd running of one of the biggest super late model races in the country. Elliott is a former Derby winner, taking home the Tom Dawson Trophy in 2015, two years after he earned his lone ARCA Menards Series victory at Pocono Raceway.

Kyle Busch is another Cup Series champion with ARCA Menards Series success on his resume who will compete in the Snowball Derby. Busch claimed three ARCA Menards Series wins early in his career before going on to win more than 200 races in the top three national touring series. He’ll drive one of his own cars as he looks for his third Derby win.

ARCA Menards Series West champion Derek Kraus is also entered. Kraus, a 10-time West Series race winner and the series’ 2019 champ, is now racing full-time for Bill McAnally Racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Derek Thorn, the 2018 and 2013 West champion, is also entered. Thorn has seven career West victories.

Chandler Smith, a nine-time ARCA Menards Series winner, is entered as he looks to join his Kyle Busch Motorsports teammate Christian Eckes as a Derby winner. Eckes, who isn’t entered this year, won the Derby in 2016.

Defending Derby winner Travis Braden is back for the 2020 race. Braden won in his ARCA Menards Series debut at Lucas Oil Raceway in 2015 and finished in the top five in the series championship standings in 2018 and 2019.

Corey Heim won the 2020 ARCA Menards Series season finale at Kansas Speedway and is entered looking for his first Derby win. Other former series winners entered include Ross Kenseth, Casey Roderick and Ty Majeski.

ARCA Menards Series part-timers Derek Griffith, Carson Hocevar, Conor Okrzesik and Kaden Honeycutt also are entered in the Snowball Derby, as are ARCA Menards Series East full-timer Mason Diaz and ARCA Midwest Tour champions Dan Fredrickson and Dalton Zehr. They are joined by former AMT rookies of the year Austin Nason and Gabe Sommers, as well as series winner Paul Shafer Jr.

In addition to the talent on the track, dozens of ARCA Menards crew members, tire changers and spotters will also be participating in the Snowball Derby, as will ARCA Menards Series television talent Bob Dillner and Jim Tretow.

The 2020 Snowball Derby can be streamed via live pay-per-view on Speed51.com starting at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday.

The ARCA Menards Series East will race at 5 Flags Speedway on Saturday, Feb. 27.
