PAHRUMP, Nev. — Jerry Pitts Racing announced today that Takuma Koga will join JPR to compete in the ARCA Menards Series West in 2021.
The 43-year-old driver from Nagoya, Japan, will contend for the championship in the West Series driving JPR’s No. 7 JPR CKB Toyota Camry.
“We’re excited to have Takuma team up with us for the upcoming season,” said team owner Jerry Pitts. “I have known Takuma for a number of years and have watched him improve not only in the standings but with his driving abilities. I think this is going to be a very good fit for both sides, and we are looking forward to having Takuma join JPR next season.”
Added Koga: “I’m pleased to be with JPR next year in the JPR CKB Toyota. They have a great history with several amazing past drivers.
“It will be both an honor and challenge to be part of JPR, but I’m looking forward to working with this team for the 2021 season.”
Koga made his West Series debut in 2002. During his first full-time season in 2017, he scored a best finish of fifth at the Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, California.
Koga finished seventh in the West Series championship points standings last season.
