West Series at Madera: Notes and stats for the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150

After more than a month off, the ARCA Menards Series West is back in action this Saturday night at California’s Madera Speedway with the running of the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150.

Tyler Reif and Sean Hingorani find themselves locked in a battle for the West Series championship and both will be looking to earn another trip to Victory Lane. Several others, including Trevor Huddleston, Jack Wood, Jaron Giannini and Todd Souza, will also be looking for their first wins of the 2024 campaign.

The West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. PT / 10 p.m. ET. FloRacing will provide live streaming coverage.

Below are some of the storylines and stats ahead of the West Series ninth race of the 2024 season.

West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 at Madera Speedway

  • The West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 at Madera Speedway is set to be the ninth ARCA Menards Series West race of 12 on the 2024 schedule. It will be the ninth ARCA Menards Series race at Madera Speedway.
  • Tyler Reif (No. 13 West Coast Cabinets Toyota) enters the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 with a seven-point lead in the ARCA Menards Series West championship standings over reigning series champion Sean Hingorani (No. 5 Fidelity Capital Toyota). Reif is coming into the race on a two-race win streak with victories at Shasta Speedway and Tri-City Raceway. Reif finished 11th at Madera Speedway last season, one of five races he did not finish among the top 10.
  • Hingorani has also won twice in 2024 with his own pair of back-to-back victories in a weekend sweep of a doubleheader at Irwindale Speedway. Hingorani finished fifth at Madera in 2023.
  • Reif’s team co-owner Todd Souza (No. 3 Central Coast Cabinets Toyota) finished second at Madera Speedway in 2023, his best finish of the season.
  • Reif’s 3.75 average finish is a half position better per race than Hingorani’s, who is second in the category at 4.25. Reif also leads in the laps led category by just six laps, 296 to 290.

  • Jack Wood (No. 16 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet) sits third in the ARCA Menards Series West championship standings, 46 points out of the lead. Wood has three top five finishes this season, including a runner-up finish in the second race at Irwindale Speedway, but has yet to lead a lap.
  • Trevor Huddleston (No. 50 High Point Racing / Racecar Factory Ford) finished eighth at Madera Speedway in 2023. He sits fourth in the ARCA Menards Series West standings with a best finish of second at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway.
  • Kyle Keller (No. 12 Las Vegas Rentals / Arbus Construction / Battle Born Racing Ford) sits fifth in the ARCA Menards Series West standings and is coming into the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 with two consecutive fifth-place finishes at Shasta Speedway and Tri-City Raceway.
  • 2006 NASCAR Southwest Tour champion Rip Michels (No. 71 Jan’s Towing Ford) will make his ARCA Menards Series West debut, driving for team owner Jan Qualkenbush. Michels’ only Southwest Tour victory came at Irwindale Speedway in 2006. He defeated two West champions, Greg Pursley and Eric Holmes, to win that race.
  • Qualkenbush’s No. 71 is sixth in the West owner’s standings and had scored two top-five finishes, a fifth at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway and a fourth after starting from the General Tire Pole at Irwindale Speedway with Nick Joanides driving. Michael Killen,Jr. (No. 9 Jan’s Towing Ford) will drive a second team entry. He ran competed in races at Irwindale Speedway, finishing 13th in the first and 12th in the second.

  • Takuma Koga (No. 7 GR Garage Toyota) will be doing double-duty this weekend. Koga will race in the ARCA Menards Series race at Kansas Speedway on Friday afternoon before making the trip to California for Saturday’s West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150. Koga finished 15th at Madera Speedway in 2023 after being collected in an accident.
  • Eric Nascimento (No. 4 Impact Transport / Freddy’s Tree Service Chevrolet) will make his third start of the season and first since he finished 22nd at Sonoma Raceway. He scored a season-best finish, sixth, in his first start of the season at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway. Nascimento set the track qualifying record at Madera Speedway in 2023 at 14.544 seconds/82.369 miles per hour to win the General Tire Pole Award.
  • Jaron Giannini (No. 23 GMS Fabrication / Versatile and Stone / Sigma Performance Services Chevrolet) returns to the cockpit after making way for former NASCAR Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series champion Greg Biffle to drive in the most recent West Series race at Tri-City Raceway. Giannini finished sixth in his debut at Irwindale Speedway and bettered it with a fifth-place result in the second round at Irwindale.
  • Pitting during any caution during the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame 150 will be for repairs and adjustments only; no tires may be changed unless approved by an ARCA official.
  • Should the race need to be extended into overtime, there will be unlimited attempts at a two-lap green/white/checkered finish. If the yellow flag is displayed after the white flag, there will be unlimited attempts at a one-lap “green-and-white-together followed by checkered” finish.
