PIT BOX: Arizona’s Tucson Speedway welcomes back West Series for first time since 2019

For the first time since 2019, the ARCA Menards Series West will return to Arizona’s Tucson Speedway this Saturday night for the running of the ARCA Menards Series West 150 presented by the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame (7 p.m. MT / 10 p.m. ET on FloRacing).

The West Series’ return to Tucson will serve as the third race on the 2025 schedule. It’s the 20th race in West Series history at the 0.375-mile oval dating back to 1993, when Dirk Stephens triumphed in the inaugural West Series event at the facility.

Previous West Series winners at Tucson include NASCAR Hall of Famer Ron Hornaday Jr., current NASCAR Cup Series driver Noah Gragson, Butch Gilliland, Derek Kraus, Kody Vanderwal, Bill Sedgwick and Chris Eggleston, among others.

Tucson SpeedwayEntering the third race of the 2025 ARCA Menards Series West season, the battle for the series championship has already begun to take shape.

Trevor Huddleston, who won the opening race of the year at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway, leads the standings entering Saturday’s event at Tucson Speedway. Huddleston, who will driver his father’s No. 50 Ford this Saturday, has made four previous West Series starts at Tucson with a best finish of fourth in the most recent series event at the track in 2019.

Robbie Kennealy is Huddleston’s closest pursuer in the West Series standings through two races. He trails Huddleston by five points and is the only driver who has finished in the top 10 in both West Series events held thus far in 2025. Kennealy will again drive the No. 1 Ford for team owner Jan Qualkenbush this Saturday at Tucson.

Kyle Keller, who finished second to Huddleston at Kern, will again be apart of Qualkenbush’s team as the pilot of the No. 71. Tanner Reif and Todd Souza will carry the flag for Central Coast Racing, with Reif set to pilot the No. 13 and Souza driving the No. 3.

Jake Bollman is scheduled to make his second start of the season in Bill McAnally’s No. 19 Chevrolet. Caleb Shrader will make his first West Series start on an oval Saturday when he takes the wheel of the No. 6 Toyota as a teammate to Eric Johnson Jr. at Jerry Pitts Racing.

Other notable entries include Blake Lothian, Cody Dennison, Mariah Boudrieau, David Smith and Tim Goulet.
