ROSEBURG, Ore. — After a wild final 10 minutes of qualifying for the ENEOS/NAPA Auto Parts 150 at Douglas County Speedway, Gio Scelzi walked away with his first career General Tire Pole Award.
The 18-year-old from Fresno, California, in his first year racing in the ARCA Menards Series West, took the top spot in his No. 16 NAPA Auto Parts/Curb Records Toyota with a lap of 15.444 seconds (75.758 mph) around the .375-mile oval.

Scelzi kept Blaine Perkins from collecting his second straight pole. Perkins, who led wire-to-wire Friday night at Washington’s Evergreen Speedway, had a lap of 15.452 (75.718) at Douglas County.
Perkins held the top spot for most of the one-hour qualifying session. He was originally usurped by Sunrise Ford teammate Trevor Huddleston, before leap-frogging him, only to get knocked off the top perch by Scelzi on his 58th of 59 laps run during the qualifying period.
Huddleston settled for third at 15.499 (75.489), while Gracie Trotter and Jack Wood were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Holley Hollan qualified sixth, with championship points leader Jesse Love in seventh, followed by Todd Souza, Takuma Koga and Bridget Burgess.
The ENEOS/NAPA Auto Parts 150 is scheduled to take the green flag at 6:30 p.m. PT / 9:30 p.m. ET live on TrackPass on NBC Gold.
